Metal roofs, siding, fences, decks, garage doors and heavy equipment. Residential and commercial, right across the city.
Ottawa is really three housing markets stacked on top of each other, and each one fails differently. The century homes in the Glebe, Hintonburg and Westboro are wood, and wood needs prep before it needs paint. The post-war bungalows in the middle ring are aluminum and stucco. The outer subdivisions are vinyl with brick fronts.
On top of that sits a commercial layer: unit blocks, plazas, warehouses on the industrial roads, and the metal buildings and equipment that go with them.
We work all three. Same crew, same phone number, whether it is a deck in Alta Vista or a fleet of machines sitting in a yard off Sheffield Road.
Older neighbourhoods mean wood siding, wood trim and painted brick. That is a prep job before it is a paint job, and it does not respond well to being rushed.
The post-war bungalow belt across the middle of the city is full of aluminum that has gone chalky. Wash it back properly and it takes a coating beautifully.
Unit blocks, plazas, metal cladding, warehouse roofing and the equipment parked behind them. One contact for all of it instead of three trades.
